Church Consultant - Leadership Workshops

Workshops include, but are not limited to:

Blueprint for Devotions:
Creating a congregational devotional booklet is an opportunity to share the gifts and stories of writers in your pews. You'll receive a complete blueprint to take you through pre-planning to publication, including a writer's workshop format. (This workshop can be combined with Snapshots of Grace for a retreat focusing on devotional writing.)

Conflict in the Church: Entrusted with the Message of Reconciliation:
A two day retreat designed by the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center. It offers an opportunity to examine the nature of conflict and how it can be a source of renewal and transformation. Time is spent discovering one’s own response to conflict and how to effectively communicate amid the storm. This workshop is especially helpful for congregational leadership teams.

Conflict Transformation Skills for Churches:
An all-day workshop designed by the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center. It looks at the nature of conflict and how it can be a source of renewal and transformation for individuals and congregations.

Conflict: Mere Survival...or Invitation to Grow?:
When you are going through any kind of conflict you’re more likely to feel like you are barely surviving than thriving. Yet the pain you and your congregation may feel could be growing pains. We’ll discuss some of the growing edges that conflict offers, both personally and corporately, and how to nurture the growth potential. Includes a discussion of self-care for congregational leaders during times of intense conflict.

Each One Gifted:
Explore the gifts of your congregational leadership team through the use of the Myers Briggs Type Inventory. Participants will both take the MBTI and learn about how their type preferences can influence their leadership and communication styles.

Gifted for Mission:
A day-long retreat to explore individual gifts of the leadership team and gifts of the congregation and how they might be utilized to refine congregational mission.

Healing Words: An Exploration of Journaling:
Each day of journaling can serve as a stepping stone to renewal and wholeness. Explore the journey within and discover how to turn journaling into a ministry tool.

Here I Stand: Leading Change Through Self-Differentiation:
This process was developed by the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center and utliizes Murray Bowen's family systems theory to understand self and the emotional process of systems. This is a longterm process that could be engaged in by individuals, church staffs, and leadership teams seeking to increase their efforts at being self-differentiated leaders.

Identity from the Inside Out: A Leadership Toolbox:
The workshop offers tools to empower and strengthen your congregational leaders in their ministry. To be a healthy church, a congregation needs healthy leaders. An excellent workshop for leadership team-building.

Keeping the Focus: Leadership During Times of Change:
A look at the realities and challenges of congregational leadership during times of change. Includes a refresher on unhealthy and healthy communications.

Leading More Effectively: Understanding Your MBTI® Preferences:
Conflicts and misunderstandings are often the result of people expecting others to both take in information and process it the same way we do. But, that doesn’t happen. This workshop will use the MBTI® to help you develop a better understanding of your preferences and how they might affect your leadership style. Each participant will be required to take an online assessment prior to the session and they will receive a personalized Myers Briggs Type Indicator® Interpretive Report at the workshop. This may also be offered as one-on-one leadership coaching rather than through a workshop.

Leading Through Conflict and Keeping the Faith:
A day-long retreat that explores healthy communications and leadership during times of conflict in the congregation.

Promoting Healthy Communications in Our Congregation:
Don't wait until you are in the midst of conflict! Build communication skills in your congregation in a proactive way. Participants look at the origins of their communications skills and explore differences in communicating.

Snapshots of Grace:
When you write a devotion, you capture a snapshot of grace in words. Learn how to write devotions for your church. Discover markets for devotional writing. (This workshop can be combined with Blueprint for Devotions.)

The Two Faces of Conflict:
If a congregation has no conflict, it may either be dying or in denial. Conflict is a sign of life and indicates a willingness to grow. Learn how to identify healthy conflict and how to keep it from turning into a destructive force.

Transformational Conflict:
Every leader will face conflict during his or her ministry. It's a fact of life, but it doesn't have to be one that evokes fear. We'll look at some of the dynamics of conflict and discuss leadership strategies and growth opportunities for both leaders and the congregation.
